A student of a private nursing college in the city was found dead hanging at her college hostel on Thursday. The Saravanampatty police said the reason for her death was under investigation.
The police said that M. Pandeeswari (19), of Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district, was a first year B.Sc. nursing student. She was found hanging from the iron bars put up to hang clothes atop the four-storied building. Her body was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police said, preliminary inquiries revealed that the girl ended her life as she could not cope up with studies. She was a Tamil medium student till she completed schooling and faced difficulty in pursuing the course in English medium.
