MEMORANDUM SUBMISSION TO PRINCIPAL SECRETORY, DEPT. OF H&FW, KARNATAKA

Government of Karnataka is planning to recruit health care professionals, including nurses in coming months. According to the existing Cadre and recruitment rule, selection of staff nurses is based on marks scored in GNM/B.Sc Nursing, There is neither written exam nor interview conducted for this selection process.

Representatives from Karnataka Nurses Forum (KNF) met Mr. Sreeshailam, Principal Secretory to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka on 26/07/2014 and submitted the memorandum for making compulsory of Common Entrance Test for recruitment of staff nurses, as existing in AIIMS, PGI, NIMHANS and other central government institutions. The copy of memorandum is also submitted to Health Minister and Office of Chief Minister for further consideration.

The group had representatives from various parts of Karnataka, viz, Naveen Dev, Pramod, Puttaraju, Suresh, Mehaboob. Khadir Mudhol and Prashanth Nayak. KNF has decided to wait for governments reply for further action.
