The no-objection certificate (NOC) of eight nursing colleges was cancelled by the state health department for not following the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council.
These colleges will now not be able to admit students for this academic year.
The orders would affect more than 300 nursing trainees in these colleges and were issued by Health Minister Anil Vij after it was brought to his notice that these colleges were operating in contravention of existing norms.
Pradeep Kasni, Director General and Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department, said that it had come to their notice that these colleges had not been approved by the competent authority. Following a detailed inquiry, it was decided to withdraw their NOCs and ban admissions.
Vij said that the state had given an approval to these colleges in violations of the norms during the previous regime. He said that students graduating from here would have received fake degrees. Hence, the decision to proceed against them, he added.
The colleges against which action has been taken are Maharshi Dayanand School of Nursing, Hisar; HKSD School of Nursing, Narnaul; Balaji School of Nursing, Bhiwani; Param Jyoti School of Nursing, Kaithal; DC Jain School of Nursing, Sonepat; Radha Swami School of Nursing, Rohtak; Guru Dronacharya School of Nursing, Adampur; and Naveen Shiksha Samiti, Mahendragarh.
